We’re looking for a hardware engineer who loves building things that actually fly, not just look good on a CAD screen. In this role, you’ll own the design and development of our drones from first prototype to field-tested system. You’ll design, build, break, fix, and iterate, often all in the same week.
This is a deeply hands-on role. You’ll be in the lab machining, printing, and assembling; out in the field stress-testing prototypes until they fail; then back inside figuring out how to make them tougher, lighter, and smarter. You’ll work side-by-side with our software and robotics engineers to make sure every mechanical choice supports autonomy in the real world, not just in theory.
If you’re the type of person who can’t help but take things apart to see how they work (and then build them back stronger), this is the place for you.
To apply, please email touko@kovahq.com with an open letter, your background, and 2–3 sentences describing your interest in Kova. We love personal projects, writings, and GitHub links too!
Please note that some roles may require security clearance or background verification before or after joining the team. If that’s the case, we’ll handle the process together and make sure you’re supported every step of the way.
